Corporate Communications & Marketing Consultant - CLOSED

Client: Oil and Gas client, within HR group reporting to the Learning and Development Manager

Location: The Woodlands, TX; 9/80 schedule; on-site required

Term: Start 11/15/18 and end 12/31/19 (12 months +)

Type: Full-time contract; 1099 or Corp-to-Corp only.  No W-2s.  No benefits.


Corporate Communications & Marketing consultant will work with the project team to develop a corporate branding/marketing campaign for competencies to help employees understand the benefits and application of the competency model and lead the change management effort for the rollout of the HR competency model to the Operations skill-group   

Skills Required

  • Self-managed, seasoned change management practitioner with 7+ years leading change management efforts

  • Ability to think strategically AND also prepare practical/tactical deliverables (this is a “lead and do” type role)

  • Highly preferred skills:

    • Prior project or change management experience with operations/field personnel - understand the cultural elements and how to engage with this group

    • Prior experience defining corporate branding, marketing and communication campaigns

    • Prior experience in Learning, Development and/or Competency groups

  • Must have experience in SharePoint (administration experience or ability to quickly learn how-to handle these needs)

  • Ability to prepare high quality written communications and PowerPoint presentations

  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Working with a sense of urgency

  • Familiarity with Kahuna or Competency systems a plus

  • Previous HR implementation experience a plus

  • Must have strong skills in assessing change needs and preparing “fit for purpose'” change plans (for example, does not over-engineer deliverables)

Job Description

  • Serve as the change management lead for a new Competencies program impacting multiple functions across the organization

  • Develop the value proposition for the corporate competency model and design a branding/marketing campaign to implement corporate-wide

  • Develop a comprehensive change management plan including change strategy, stakeholder and impact assessment, communication plan, training plan, and transition and support plan

  • Review change impacts to the organization and encourage team to complete a comprehensive audience analysis

  • Prepare a cohesive marketing/communications campaign to reach and motivate operations personnel

  • Identify resistance and/or performance gaps, and work to develop and implement responsive actions

  • Craft and/or coordinate clearly articulated messages that prepare and motivate users for adopting the change

  • Manage project communication plan and develop individual project communications including weekly/monthly stakeholder updates, leader video talking points, key engagement presentations, meeting invites, newsletter items, and internal web communications

  • Prepare and execute training development and communications including messaging, formatting, review cycles, etc.

  • Work with team to develop and review training materials including on-line course modules and quick reference guides.

  • Participate in UAT testing and work with ream to revise materials as needed

  • Develop and implement a project support transition plan and help define post-project roles and responsibilities
