A global integrated energy company undertook an Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) transformation across its U.S. and Canadian trading operations to increase scalability and efficiency, improve P&L and risk visibility, and enable better data-driven decision making.
ChangeStaffing led organizational change management, communications, and training - driving business participation and adoption while enabling a smooth transition with minimal post-go-live support.
The client was undertaking a major Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) transformation, implementing Endur across its U.S. and Canadian trading operations. The initiative required transitioning to an integrated, scalable front-to-back office platform capable of supporting more complex trading while improving operational efficiency, P&L and risk visibility, reporting, and decision-making. Success depended on strengthening the quality and reliability of critical trading data while preparing the business to adopt new processes and ways of working - all within the demanding environment of real-time energy trading.
ChangeStaffing provided full-cycle change management support for the Endur implementation, beginning with the development of a project Executive Team to build business sponsorship and provide ongoing leadership throughout the transformation. Monthly executive meetings were conducted to maintain alignment and address emerging needs, while Communication Champions representing key functional areas helped connect the project with the broader business and reinforce alignment across the organization.
To build awareness and understanding, ChangeStaffing conducted information sessions and system demonstrations with users, supported by a dedicated project website and monthly newsletters. Functional-area-specific “What’s In It for Me” sessions helped employees understand how Endur would affect their roles, processes, and day-to-day responsibilities and provided a forum for addressing questions and concerns.
ChangeStaffing also developed a comprehensive training program consisting of 30 training modules and more than 200 hours of classroom instruction tailored to specific functional areas. As the organization prepared for transition, Parallel Testing kick-off meetings were conducted and users were provided with Start Kits to support their participation in testing and help prepare them for the move to the new Endur environment.
The transformation achieved full business participation throughout the multi-month parallel system and data-entry period, successfully preparing the organization for the transition to Endur. All U.S. and Canadian users were transitioned to the new platform within the demanding operational constraints of a real-time energy trading environment.
The transition required minimal post-go-live support and resulted in no significant go-live surprises, reflecting the organization’s readiness for the new environment. The business also realized the targeted capabilities of the transformation, including enhanced Position Management, Risk Management, and Daily P&L processes.
